Sarah Dyke's Business Rates Relief Petition

I call on the Government to reverse its disastrous decision to remove Business Rates relief for hospitality this spring. Many of our local pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and entertainment venues are already struggling with spiralling costs; removing the current relief will mean their Business Rates will rocket by 40% or more.

These businesses don’t just contribute billions to our economy - they create local jobs, support vibrant town centres, and bring people together. They are the backbone of our rural communities.

But some will be forced to close, and these vital rural services will be lost. The Government must act to protect our high streets and reconsider this damaging tax.
