Stop Lloyd's Bank from closing - Glastonbury and Somerton Liberal Democrats

Demand that Lloyds Bank keep their Street branch open to serve local residents.

I call on Lloyds Bank to rethink their damaging decision to close their Street branch in March 2027. It is unacceptable that Street residents will be left without a physical bank branch: this will make cash and banking services inaccessible for many vulnerable and rural customers, who may be unable to access online banking services and will need to travel further to receive face-to-face support.

The proposed Community Banking Hub - staffed just once a week - will not be an adequate solution. Lloyds must commit to keeping their Street branch open to ensure residents can access the banking services they need.
